This can’t be happening!

Just yesterday Richard Herring was 20 years old and he had his whole life ahead of him. Then he blinked and bang - he’s 40, it’s 2008, he’s still single and he makes a living being childish and puerile to strangers in the dark.

Anxious to share the pain, the acclaimed stand-up and writer brings his hit show-come-mid-life-crisis to Glasgow.

Richard stakes a claim as a genuine comedy cult hero thanks to co-creating (with comedy partner and fellow festival attendee Stewart Lee) the seminal ‘90s classics BBC Radio 1’s Lee & Herring’s Music Show and BBC2’s Fist of Fun and This Morning With Richard Not Judy.

Away from Mr Lee, Richard has written a series of acclaimed comic plays including Excavating Rita and Playing Hide and Seek With Jesus, worked with Al Murray on the Sky One sitcom Time Gentlemen, Please, starred in BBC Radio 2’s hit comedy series’ That WasThen, This Is Now and The 99p Challenge and created and starred in ITV1’s feature length comedy-drama You Can Choose Your Friends.

As a solo stand-up, Richard has subjected himself to a series of high-concept comedic endeavors. Whether it’s an attempt to complete a modern re-imagining of the Twelve Tasks of Hercules, taking on Eve Ensler with a testosterone-packed night of Talking Cock or mapping out the eerie similarities between him and Jesus in Christ On A Bike, he never goes for an easy laugh.

Now, join Richard for his latest confessional quest as he delves into the murky, mortifying world of perpetual teenaged-ness and questions the success of a man approaching middle age on a barely-used skateboard.
