You might think it’s easy to be a political comedian in the 21st
century, what with a surfeit of material that seems to write itself.
Well, wish we were all as hilariously articulate in our righteous
anger as Britain’s foremost topical funnyman Andy Parsons.
Never falling wide of the mark, Andy’s stand-up unleashes an endless
barrage of perfectly crafted gags, tearing into government, the world
and all kinds of prevalent stupidity.
Cutting an imposing figure, Andy is the lynchpin of BBC2’s Mock
The Week and has made numerous guest appearances on Q.I, The Live
Floor Show and They Think It’s All Over. His sharply
satirical stance has seen him become a member of London’s infamously
savage Comedy Store Cutting Edge team alongside the likes of Rich
Hall and Marcus Brigstocke and spread his talents across the
pond by securing a hotly-contested place in the Montreal Comedy
Festival’s Talk of the Fest showcase.
Andy is familiar to many BBC Radio 2 listeners as one half of
long-standing partnership Parsons & Naylor, who recorded nine
series of their hugely popular news satire Parsons & Naylor’s Pullout
Sections.
Returning to the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival after
selling out last year’s gig before the festival had even started, Andy
promises a night of no-holds-barred comedic vitriol, with his hapless
targets making it from newspaper to stage before the ink is even dry.
