The Pele and Maradona of Scottish fitba’ comedy loved making their
stage debut at last year’s festival so much, they’ve dusted off their
kit and are back for a new season.
The dynamic duo from BBC’s Off The Ball have rounded up a
brand new formation of funnies as they present a night of white-hot
topical material, fond recollections of major scandals and an explosive
chat with a very special guest.
We might not be going to Euro ’08, but Tam Cowan and Stuart
Cosgrove’s salute of the national game means at least we’ll be
laughing. Unlike England.
Tam and Stuart developed an instant chemistry since they first
co-hosted BBC Radio Scotland’s Off The Ball in 1995, picking up
two coveted Sony Awards for their troubles.
Tam moved successfully into TV with BBC Scotland’s regular fixture
Offside and Taxi For Cowan, netting him another award- this
time from the Royal Television Society for Best Regional Presenter.
Born in 1969 in Motherwell, Tam's interests include supporting
Motherwell FC, going to the horse racing and eating and drinking.
In the 1980s, Stuart edited NME and The Face,
establishing him as one of Britain’s foremost cultural commentators and
is currently Channel 4’s Head of Programmes, Nations and Regions.
Stuart's book Hampden Babylon – a collection
of tawdry true tales from Scottish football's murky past – is quite
possibly the funniest book about football ever written.
Stuart is an ardent fan of St Johnstone and lives in political exile
in Glasgow.
Now back together to hear the roar of the crowd and indulge in some
half-time pies, Tam and Stuart will be tearing into all aspects of the
beautiful game- even the ugly bits.
